The unmistakable style of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch was forged over decades performing Pina Bausch’s huge catalogue of extraordinary work. Following the choreographer’s death in 2009, the company is now ready to embark on the expansion of this hallowed repertoire.
Norwegian choreographer, director and award-winning playwright Alan Lucien Øyen takes on the challenge to create the second new full-length piece for the company.

That’s stunning!
This performance was one of the most frustrating performances I have ever seen. The performance felt like 3 1/2 hours of people moving set/ furniture around the stage constantly, with bits of dialogue. The very little dance that was in the piece didn't seem to have any cohesion to the piece as a whole, nor to the individual pieces of dance. It was an absolute shame that a wonderful dance company like this used a director/ playwrite to develop a new work. I would not consider it appropriate to call Alan Lucien a Choreographer, and think it was an appalling choice by the company's Director.
nice venue and great show
wonderful performances of the newest iteration from the Bausch legacy and inspiration to the new guard!Brava.
If that's supposed to be a "Tanztheater", actors shall dance much more often as it happened. I can live with not much story, but please dance!

Liked it, but it was too long. Choreographer needs to edit and tighten the work.
